Andre Iguodala continues to give back to his community.
Iguodala joined with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Illinois to hold a viewing party of game 3 of the NBA Finals Wednesday night. Tiffany Mathis, Central Unit Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Illinois, says this really all started with Andre Iguodala’s mother.
“Ms. Linda Shanklin had some t-shirts to give out. She contacted [a volunteer] and he throght, ‘why don’t we make this a viewing event?'” says Mathis. “He collaborated with The Boys and Girls Club, the YMCA, and Wal-Mart, and it just grew into this event. The just through it would be a really great idea to give back to the community, as Andre does quite often.”
The nearly 100 children invited to the event were provided with a meal from Walmart and a “Strength in Numbers” Golden State Warriors NBA Finals t-shirt.
