Springfield police are investigating a shooting that left a 17-year old dead and another person wounded with non-life threatening injuries.
Springfield Police Lieutenant Bob Markovic says they received a call just after 8:30 Wednesday night from the 2400-block of Ladley Court.
Deandre Atkinson, 17, who was a senior at Springfield High School according to his personal Facebook page, was pronounced dead at 9:44 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center. Another person received non-life threatening injuries.
The Sangamon County Coroner says Atkinson was killed by multiple gunshot wounds, lab results are still pending.
