Breeze Airways, billing itself as the U.S.’ only NLCC, or ‘Nice Low-Cost Carrier,’ announced Tuesday that Springfield will be the latest city to join its growing national network. Breeze will offer twice-weekly service to both Orlando and Tampa, starting December 1 and 4, respectively.

Mayor Misty Buscher, Alderman Jim Donelan, and Chairman of the airport board Frank Valla were among the many dignitaries, airport officials, media and airport patrons on hand for a Tuesday morning ceremony in the main concourse of the airport.

Breeze has been in operation for nearly 2 and half years and services 37 cities in 22 states.

The new route to Orlando will be served on Mondays and Fridays, switching to Wednesdays and Saturdays on January 10, while the route to Tampa will be served on Mondays and Fridays. The introductory fare is available for purchase through September 25, for travel by April 30, 2024.
