Capital Township Trustee, Brad Carlson, hopes the second time around will bear fruit. He says he will be a candidate for Springfield Ward Seven Alderman in next spring’s municipal elections.
Carlson ran against current Ward 7 Alderman Joe McMenamin unsuccessfully four years ago but McMenamin is out of the running this time around due to term limits.
Carlson has served as Deputy Sangamon County Clerk, an elected Trustee of Capital Township, and Chief of Staff at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. He currently is a policy analyst with the issues staff of the Illinois Senate Republicans.
A 1989 graduate of Illinois State University, Brad and his wife Deana, a nurse, have two adult children.
