An Illinois woman who was engaged to a slain federal marshal has been accused of stealing money from a charity golf tournament held in his honor.
A federal grand jury indicted 53-year-old Pamela Robtoy of Belleville of mail fraud, wire fraud and making a false statement to federal agents. Robtoy is accused of stealing money from the annual John Perry Golf Benefit Tournament in Fairview Heights.
That event was in honor of deputy U.S. marshal John Perry, who was killed in March 2011 while trying to serve a warrant to a drug felon in St. Louis.
