Calvin Christian lost his lawsuit against the city regarding its administrative tow fee, but he’s not giving up.

Christian maintains the fee, which at the time was $500 per tow, was unreasonable and unconstitutional, as the towee can’t appear before a judge before it’s paid. A Sangamon County Judge disagreed, but Christian is pressing on.

“This will be a landmark case,” he said. “If we do prevail on this case, then it will affect Chicago, Fairview Heights and anywhere else they may have an administrative tow fee.”

The city last year lowered the tow fee to $250, but Christian says the idea of the administrative fee is still reprehensible.
