An Illinois State Police report on their investigation on how the Springfield Police Department handled misconduct allegations on two detectives is finally being release.
The probe began in 2005 after a unnamed police official said Paul Carpenter and Jim Graham cut corners to obtain search warrants. Newly appointed Police Chief Kenny Winslow says he was troubled by the allegations and says the department has been reconfigured to provide more oversight.
The 23-hundred page report is just now being made public. However, the full report has not yet been released. Calls to Springfield City Hall have not yet been returned.
