Nobody in Illinois is legally concealing and carrying yet, and there’s an attempt to change one of the rules.
State Sen. Don Harmon (D-Oak Park) wants to change the concealed-carry law that now requires businesses and other public places that don’t want guns to post a sign.
“The concealed carry law the General Assembly passed requires businesses that don’t guns on the premises be required to post a sign that says ‘No guns allowed.’ ” says Harmon. “That seems counter-intuitive to me. If you are running a business that welcomes guns you should probably display a sign that says you welcome guns.”
Lawmakers may revisit some suggested changes to the law when they return for the Spring Session.
