Springfield, IL (WTAX) – More information coming out regarding the Monday night shooting of a bouncer working at the Cove tavern on N. Dirksen Parkway. Its now the Sangamon/Menard County Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week.
According to reports around 1:20 am a black four-door vehicle pulled into the east lot of the bar.
Two white men exit the vehicle and were denied entry to the bar.
The two got back into the vehicle and left but once on Keys Ave. at least one occupant got out of the vehicle and fired multiple rounds in the direction of the bar striking the bouncer, a parked vehicle and the building. The injured man was treated for a minor gunshot wound at the hospital and released.
