The Illinois Veterans’ Home at Manteno in Kanakee County is experiencing an increase in COVID-19 cases among its residents and staff. They have identified 6 staff and 16 veterans as positive for COVID-19.
The administration says all those affected have received inoculations against COVID and most are showing no symptoms although they say one one veteran, already under hospice care and completely asymptomatic, passed away early Wednesday–only hours after his booster shot and results of a COVID positive result.
