The Sangamon County Coroner, Jim Allmon, has identified the man who died after being transported from the scene of a motor vehicle collision near North Dirksen Parkway and Sangamon Avenue in Springfield Friday night.
Chad Dial, 41, of Mahomet, Illinois died at 9:17pm shortly after arriving at HSHS St. John’s Hospital’s emergency room.
An autopsy done today suggests Mr. Dial died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the collision.
The death remains under investigation by the Sangamon County Coroner and the Springfield Police Department.
