Local Congressman Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville) has more ammunition against the Affordable Care Act, and it came from an unexpected source: U. S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

She ordered Tuesday that a Catholic provider could not be forced to cover contraceptives. Happy to capitalize on another stumble in what he calls “flawed” legislation, Davis says it’s as simple as the separation of church and state.

“If religious institutions teach certain values,” Davis says, “no matter what they are – Christian or Muslim of Jewish or what-have-you – they ought to be able to practice those values without government coming in and saying that you should or you should not do so.”

Davis appeared on Thursday’s WTAX Morning Newswatch.
