U.S. Congressman Rodney Davis (R-IL 13) spoke at the 173rd Airborne Association’s memorial dedication Wednesday, in a ceremony relocated from Camp Butler Cemetery to American Legion Post 32 due to weather.

“I’m honored and humbled,” Davis said, “every time I’m around a group of heroes like those of you who are in the 173rd and so many others who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms that get taken for granted here in this great country.”

Following the memorial dedication, Davis addressed the ongoing war in Ukraine and said that NATO should deliver on all that has been promised should it become known that Russia is using chemical or biological weapons in the war there.

Davis, a five-term incumbent, is running against Mary Miller in the newly drawn fifteenth congressional district. Miller has recently secured the endorsement of former U.S. President Donald Trump.

Illinois’s primary is June 28th.
