Teacher Jennifer Ghesquiere Deaner was appointed to the Sangamon County Board Tuesday. She will fill the District 25 seat, covering portions of the west side of Springfield, that was left vacant by the retirement of George Preckwinkle.
She currently serves as a preschool teacher at Springfield’s Christ the King and has over two decades of experience as a preschool teacher and childcare center director.
Deaner was unanimously approved by the board and will serve the remainder of the term which expires in December.
