A woman’s death discovered Wednesday is suspicious, according to police and the coroner.

The woman, 47, was found dead in a room at the Sleep Inn in Springfield.

Police are investigating the death of a 54 year old woman. They say it’s suspicious, and the SJ-R is calling it a possible shooting.

Police were called to the 1600 of East Miller Street late Thursday afternoon for a report of an injured woman and performed CPR on her until the ambulance got there. She was pronounced dead at HSHS St John’s Hospital and is scheduled for an autopsy today.
