Charges were filed against a Decatur man in the shooting of his pregnant girlfriend and the fetus.
Justin Q. Buckley is being held in the Macon County Jail in lieu of $750,000 on attempted first-degree murder and attempted homicide of an unborn child charges. The woman is hospitalized in serious condition and the baby, born prematurely, is in good condition.
Decatur Police Detective Joe Patton says Buckley told authorities he found his girlfriend covered with blood and walking along a street. Patton says Buckley confessed to the shootings after being confronted with evidence he and the victim argued about his alleged infidelity.
