A fire truck on its way to Peoria for servicing overturned and shut down portions of I-55 in Springfield Monday afternoon.
The interstate reopened shortly after 4:00 p.m.
Fire Chief Ken Fustin says the truck is from Harrisburg. It was heading north on 55 when it apparently blew a tire near the Sangamon Ave. exit, it crossed the median, hit the backside of the jersey barriers and flipped over.
There was only one occupant, the driver. Fustin says he was shaken but uninjured.
