The executive director of St. John’s Children’s Hospital appeared in court Thursday for a preliminary hearing.
Margaret Curtin faces a felony charge of theft. She is accused of embezzling more than $700,000 from the hospital since 2008. The 55-year old Springfield resident was arrested September 22nd and was being held on $1-million bond.
The hospital will not comment on how it took six years for the money to be discovered missing. She is on unpaid leave and will next appear in court October 16th.
