A Springfield man was charged with attempted murder after police said he attacked his ex-girlfriend and another man with a marble cutting board.
Maurice King, 41, was arrested after the incident Saturday at the ex-girlfriend’s house. Sangamon County officials said his bond was set at $250,000. He is also facing charges of domestic battery and unlawful use of a weapon.
The male victim, 34, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to an area hospital, Springfield police said. The woman wasn’t as badly injured and was able to leave the hospital after treatment.
