Fallen Tree Knocks Out Power to 1,100 on North End

City Water Light and Power is now reporting roughly 750 customers throughout Springfield are without power, many of whom were on the north end.

About 1,100 north end customers served by the Taintor Road substation were restored around 3:45 Monday afternoon. CWLP spokeswoman Amber Sabin says a downed tree near Camp Sangamo Road and 8th Street was likely the cause.

Ameren also reported problems with thousands of customers throughout the listening area.
