The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Unit, assisted by the Illinois State Police executed a drug search warrant at 1017 South 15th Street in Springfield around 5:00am Thursday morning.
The search warrant was obtained after an on-going drug investigation where Detectives with the DIRT unit discovered the resident at this address was selling Fentanyl.
Located in the house at the time of the warrant service was the 27 year old resident, Joshua J. Tolbert.
The following items were seized from the residence. Fifteen (15) grams of suspected methamphetamine, 1.4 grams of suspected fentanyl, $401 in US currency, a digital drug scale, and drug packaging.
Tolbert was arrested and taken to the Sangamon County Jail. Tolbert was charged with Delivery of Fentanyl, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Methamphetamine, Criminal Fortification of a Residence, and Delivery of a Narcotic within 500 feet of a School. Tolbert’s bond was set at $100,000.
