Four children were taken into custody late Wednesday after police responded to a burglary in progress.

Police say three of them are 13, one of them is 10. They responded to the Boost Mobile on Stevenson and saw them running away. Two of the 13-year-olds were taken to the Sangamon County Juvenile Detention Center, one was released to a guardian and the 10 year old was released to his mother.

That store was also burglarized this past Sunday and Tuesday, it’s unclear if the boys played a role in those. Police are investigating.

They’re being charged with attempted burglary, criminal damage to property, possession of stolen property and resisting a police officer.
