Four people were injured, one seriously, in a house fire near 10th and Ash in Springfield early Tuesday morning.

Springfield Fire Chief Ken Fustin says the call came in around 7:00, several engine companies responded to find the house heavily engulfed in flames. Fustin estimates it took crews about 90 minutes to get it under control.

One person was critically injured, two suffered non life threatening injuries, and a fourth was later taken for treatment due to smoke inhalation. The single family home was housing 14 people.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, as of Tuesday afternoon Springfield fire crews were still on the scene.
