New schools superintendent Jennifer Gill says grants don’t last forever but she believes the staff at Lanphier High are on the right track.

A school improvement grant has expired but Gill says the teachers will continue to move forward.

“There always comes an end date. You have to have a plan of action. These are opportunities to try some things and see what works. I am really looking forward to sitting down with them” says Gill.

Test scores have risen at Lanphier the last couple of years. Administrators point to the grant in allowing them to implement more educational intervention initiatives.

Principal Artie Doss says he is hoping for more parental involvement.
