Democratic Lt. Governor nominee Paul Vallas says allegations and scandals surrounding businesses involved with Bruce Rauner’s former investment firm should make voters think twice about believing his pledge to run government like a business.
Vallas says there are modern business practices that can be brought to government to make it perform more efficiently. He says government isn’t in the business of taking casualties or of slashing people’s services – especially those who are in need of those services to survive.
While Vallas was attacking Rauner’s business record, Rauner was visiting a manufacturer in St. Charles. He called on the governor to set up an independent investigation into allegations that groups associated with the Neighborhood Recovery Initiative.
