The Illinois Emergency Management Agency is handing out $4 million in grants to city and county first responders.
Sangamon County is receiving more than $55,000, Morgan’s grant award is $22,000 and Menard will recieve more than $17,000.
The grants may be used for day-to-day operations. Another $7 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will also be awarded to the state for emergency planning and exercises.
