Springfield police say extra patrols will be around Lee School until the end of the school year, because a student allegedly had a gun at school.
A police news release mentions both the Tuesday morning ncident and the Uvalde, Tex., massacre as reasons for the extra measures. The release says the student is under investigation, staff quickly secured the gun, and the student never displayed the gun.
