News that Gov. JB Pritzker’s blind trust – for his personal fortune – invests in a state contractor has him answering questions from reporters.

“All conflicts of interest are taken care of by virtue of the blind trust and the safeguards that have been put into place,” Pritzker said Monday.

Was the trust’s decision to invest in Medicaid contractor Centene a mistake?

“I think it would be a mistake if there was some conflict of interest or if i was engaged in any way.

“I was not, and there is not.”

Reporting by the Better Government Association casts doubt on how blind that blind trust is, but the governor’s campaign says the BGA’s report is unfair and inaccurate.
