All federal, state and city offices will be closed today as will many businesses. There will be no mail delivery and banks are closed.

Police say they have stepped up patrols to catch drivers who are not following the rules of the road.

If fireworks are your thing, Knight’s Action Park is the place to be at 9:30 tonight. The display over Lake Decatur starts at 9 p.m. and in Community Park, Mechanicsburg at dusk.

Safety experts and city officials say fireworks are best left to the professionals.
