Are you worried about being able to pay your heating bill this winter?
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance program, or LIHEAP, is again accepting applications. Dave Roeder with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity says the state and federally funded program helped out hundreds of thousands of households last year.
“Nobody should worry about the costs of keeping their homes warm this winter,” says Roeder. “This is designed for seniors, homes with young children and, others who have trouble paying for the heat in the winter.”
Roeder expects more than 390,000 households to apply this winter. The program is available to electric, natural gas, and propone customers who meet the LIHEAP guidelines.
