Security will be stepped up a bit for Springfield high school graduation ceremonies this weekend.
District 186 Superintendent Jennifer Gill doesn’t expect problems but wants to ensure students and their families have an enjoyable experience.
“We are just going to heighten our security just a little bit from what we’ve done in the past. We are going to funnel people into our gates,” Gill told board members Monday night.
Lanphier grads will take the PCCC stage at 11 this Saturday morning; Southeast students will receive their diplomas at 2 and, then Springfield High students can celebrate at 5pm.
The SOHO music festival will also take place downtown Saturday so Gill is urging people to plan ahead because parking will be at a premium downtown.
