Springfield fire crews were called to an abandoned house fire in the 1300 block of North Grand Ave. E. around 3 this morning.
SFD says the first crews in were unable to contain the fire and more firefighters were called to the scene. A total of total of 6 engines and 2 trucks were needed to extinguish the blaze.
The structure is being called a total loss.
The fire is currently under investigation by the inspectors of the SFD Fire Safety Division.
