Fund-raising efforts to get the doors opened for the long-planned Springfield Kidzeum seem to be on target according to Board of Directors’ President Racheal Thomson.
“We still have a little more than $1 million left to raise to cover two years of operating expenses and our exhibit costs along with the renovation of our building,” says Thomson. “But we are on track.”
Renovations for the building the museum purchased downtown at 4th and Adams streets are underway.
Thomson also says a $50 thousand pledge from Scheels’ and its employees has grown to $100 thousand.
The museum is slated to open in late 2015.
