If you’re still looking to fill a few stockings, you could try an Illinois-made food product.
“The Illinois Department of Agriculture works with a variety of food companies,” says spokesman Jeff Squibb. “The departmentt has a couple of different branding programs available. One of them is for Illinois produce called “Where Fresh Is,” and then there’s also a logo program for Illinois products.”
The Buy Illinois Challenge is running a contest through Christmas as well. Participants pledge to spend at least ten dollars of their weekly grocery budget on Illinois-made foods.
