Illinois’ gubernatorial candidates are getting some help rallying voters ahead of Election Day.
Democratic Governor Pat Quinn and Republican businessman Bruce Rauner are traveled the state Saturday. It’s the start of a final weekend of campaigning before Tuesday’s election.
Quinn was joined by first lady Michelle Obama for a get-out-the-vote rally in Moline. The first lady also will stump for Democratic U.S. Senator Dick Durbin and U.S. Representative Cheri Bustos.
Rauner will be in Quincy, Lawrenceville, Carmi, Harrisburg and Marion. He’ll be joined at several of the stops by GOP Congressman John Shimkus.
Former Governor Jim Edgar is scheduled to campaign with his fellow Republican on Monday.
The race is breaking records for Illinois campaign spending and is considered one of the closest in the U.S.
