The lockdown at Lincoln Correctional Center continues as at least 30 inmates are presenting flu like symptoms.
Corrections spokesman Tom Shaer says the lockdown is for health reasons only, not security. Staff encountered the first inmate with flu like symptoms on January 2nd. Since then they’ve been allowed to move for medical needs, showers and restroom use. No visitors are allowed and no inmate transfers are taking place.
Despite the number of inmates with the flu, only three cases have tested positive.
