The old Lutheran High School Building on West Washington Street is set to be decommissioned Saturday. The building was condemned due to mine subsidence in the summer of 2022. Demolition of the high school will happen at a later date determined by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The outdoor service will start at 3 pm.
The school is currently using the First Church of The Nazarene building on South 6th Street and LHS is in negotiations to purchase a new property to construct a new building.
