A Sangamon County jury has determined a registered sex offender is a Sexually Violent Person. A Sangamon County Circuit Court Judge has ordered 48 year old Jimmy Dudley to be remanded to the custody of the Illinois Department of Human Services .
Dudley will be returned to a Treatment and Detention Facility, pending a disposition hearing, now that he has been found to be a sexually violent person.
In 2019, Dudley was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography involving a 9-year-old girl who lived in the same house as Dudley.
Dudley will be re-evaluated on a regular basis to determine if he continues to meet the criteria for commitment as a sexually violent person.
