A 41 year old Springfield man was killed Friday night when he was struck by a train at the area of North 9th and East Converse.
The Sangamon County Coroner says the man was pronounced dead at the scene around 930 that evening.
The identity of the man is being withheld pending next of kin notification. The death is under investigation by authorities.
