State Senator Sam McCann (R-Carlinville) says his ‘yes’ vote to place a non-binding referendum to raise the minimum wage on November’s ballot was not necessarily a vote in favor of actually raising it, rather he says he wants to find out what voter’s think.
“Reagan was one of my political heroes. He didn’t fear the people. He trusted the people,” says McCann
McCann was the lone Repulican in support of the bill in the Senate. After clearing both chambers, the referendum question head to Governor Quinn’s desk.
