It was expected that Springfield School District Board members would vote on the installation of a new superintendent Monday night but the holidays scotched those plans. Board member Adam Lopez says the contract is ready and he feels Jennifer Gill will take the office in a couple of weeks.
“Basically how the holidays landed and she was on vacation out of state so it gives us time to get the negotiations and vote on the 21st (January)” says Lopez.
Gill is serving as an admistrator in the Bloomington district now but is anxious to return to Springfield. She still maintains a residence in the city and has taught and served as a principal in District 186 earlier her career.
