Campaign season is here for the city – just a couple of weeks after the campaigns for state office.

“It is nonstop, and it’s actually very confusing for our voters,” said city treasurer Misty Buscher, who is running for mayor. “They just voted, and they wonder why we are out knocking on doors, but there is a municipal election in just five short months.”

How’s Mayor Langfelder’s campaign going?

“I always view your day-to-day work as campaigning,” said the mayor, “and that’s what we’re here for: to provide services to the public, and that’s the greatest forum for demonstrating that.”

They are the only two announced candidate for mayor. Voters will also choose other citywide officers, aldermen, and school board members.

Petition filing runs from today through one week from today.

The primary is Feb. 27, and the election is April 4.
