A brazen attempt at an ATM robbery overnight, as a black four-by-four ripped a cash machine from its foundation at the MacArthur and Ash location of Town and Country Bank.
Teenager Huntyer Dubach was at the scene.
“My mom came in yelling when I was dead asleep, ‘Somebody’s trying to take the ATM’. I woke up and started running down here with the dog and my stepdad. They had the truck backed up next to the ATM, and you could hear the pull like the ‘vroom, vroom’ and you could hear the rocks kicking up and they came flying down, and you can see the skid marks right there. They started to run off, then they came back to grab something . . . I’m not sure if it was money or what, and then they ran off.”
No word on how much cash, if any, was taken.
