The Illinois Historic Preservation Agency has created a panel to review the strengths and weaknesses of the governing structure for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
Monday’s move comes in the wake of Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan’s introduction of legislation to split the library from the agency. He says the institution is held back by needing permission for its operations from the Historic Preservation Agency.
