Gov. Pat Quinn has called Governor-elect Bruce Rauner for the first time since he lost last week’s election to the Republican.

Rauner spokesman Mike Schrimpf said the “cordial” phone conversation took place Wednesday. Quinn’s office says it lasted a few minutes and the two discussed the Affordable Care Act.

Quinn sought a second full term, but lost by roughly five percentage points to Rauner in the Winnetka businessman’s first bid for public office.  Still, Quinn didn’t concede the race until the day after the election.
