Police say the condition of three Cub Scouts is improving after they were injured in a chemical explosion.
The accident in Raymond happened when the scouts and a parent mixed boric acid and antifreeze in a fire pit to produce a green flame. Police say the concoction exploded and burned the faces, hands and arms of three scouts and the adult. All of them were taken to a local hospital, but the adult wasn’t admitted.
Mayor Denny Held says none of them were wearing eye protection. All three are expected to recover.
