City elections are still months away but one familiar name is announcing he wants to return to the Springfield City Council.
Chuck Redpath previously served as Ward 4 Alderman for 5 terms and says he is anxious to get back in the game.
“I enjoy public service,” Redpath says. “It’s been my life. I’ve served on the city council, I was a law enforcement officer for over 30 years. 27 years in the military. So, you know, I’m not ready to give it up yet. I think I have a lot to contribute to the city of Springfield.”
Redpath is running for the Ward 1 seat now held by Frank Edwards, who’s leaving due to term limits. He says his focus will be on continued economic development of blighted areas.
