Democratic Party officials say a replacement for state Rep. Keith Farnham will be chosen this weekend.

Farnham is a Democrat from Elgin who began his legislative career in 2009. He resigned earlier this month citing health reasons. He quit after federal agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in a search for child pornography, seized computers from his home and offices.

Farnham represented the 43rd House District, which includes Elgin as well as portions of Barrington Hills, Carpentersville, East Dundee and South Elgin.

Local Democrats will select Farnham’s replacement on Saturday. Officials say the new state representative will take the oath of office on Sunday at an Elgin Restaurant.
