Schnucks is recalling a few dozen devil’s food cakes sold system-wide because of decorative pecans weren’t disclosed on the label.
“It was not listed on the label,” says Schnucks Communications Manager Lori Willis. “When you’re referring to undisclosed allergens, it’s when an allergen is not listed on the label.”
Schnucks communications manager Lori Willis says no illnesses have been reported, but the chain recalled the cakes as a precautionary measure. It’s unlikely anyone with a nut allergy will buy the cake, she says, because the pecans are clearly visible.
Willis says anyone who’s purchased a recalled cake can take it to any Schnucks store for a full refund. The cakes included are:
