District 186’s “Our Schools, Our Future” construction program will soon turn its attention to Spartan Field at Southeast High School. And, as that stadium hosted all District 186 home football games in 2022, superintendent Jennifer Gill says the Southeast team should at least start the 2024 season at Memorial Stadium.
Other improvements will include a video scoreboard and indoor track. Construction at both Southeast and Springfield High Schools goes on as Lanphier High School prepares the grand opening for its new digs.
Gill told the school board Monday the district has reached an agreement with the owners of two properties the SHS project needs along West Monroe Street. That means the district will not need to pursue eminent domain proceedings.
